About Dr. Lisa Bolshin
Dr. Lisa Bolshin is a licensed Clinical Neuropsychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She attained her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University with a declared competency in the area of Clinical Neuropsychology. She conducted her doctoral research at the Rotman Research Institute at Baycrest Health Sciences, on the effect of depression on individuals’ scope of attention. Her pre-doctoral residency was completed at the Saskatoon Health Region in the areas of Rehabilitation Health Psychology and Neuropsychology. Her post-doctoral training in Clinical Neuropsychology was completed at Community Head Injury Resource Services (CHIRS). Dr. Bolshin has also pursued training at several other sites including the Clinical Neuropsychology Services at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton, the Neurorehabilitation and Spinal Cord Injury programs at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, Neuropsychological Services at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Vanier Centre for Women and Maplehurst Correctional Centre, and in the community at the Oshawa Psychological and Counselling Services.
Currently, Dr. Bolshin continues to provide clinical neuropsychological services at CHIRS. As part of her work at CHIRS she has developed and implemented a group therapy program based on dialectical behavior therapy and mindfulness meditation techniques. A focus of her clinical work includes assessing and treating individuals with a variety of neurological and psychological conditions. She provides psychological and neuropsychological assessments as well as treatment services for individuals with concussion, acquired brain injury, psychological health and healthy aging/dementia. She has experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness Meditation, and integrating other evidence-based methodologies as needed. She provides clinical consultation to clients and staff in long-term supportive housing residences, as well as a brain injury organizations that extend throughout rural communities in Ontario.
Dr. Bolshin's practice areas are in clinical psychology and neuropsychology across all adult ages (18-90+). She is a member of the Ontario Psychological Association, the Canadian Psychological Association, and the National Academy of Neuropsychology.
